I did this sketch while hanging out at a coffee shop with my husband and friends. This was from my imagination and I used some references for finalizing the pose.
Laura's Artwork
My name is Laura and I have been painting and drawing all my life. I was born in Lima, Peru but for most of my life I have been living in the US. As a child I was always drawing and sketching. My curiosity led me to paint with different mediums; acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastels chalks, and to jewelery making and printmaking. My interests led me into a new direction towards what I do for a living now, working as a cg lighting artist. I love my work and I love meeting new people.

Metropolitan Museum of Art drawings
The Met is such a big museum and with every visit I find new sculptures to draw. Here are a couple of drawings from last weekend.

Zebra
I've been enjoying using white charcoal on black paper for drawing. I was thinking of what could be the next thing I draw in that method and my husband suggested a few things and the zebra idea stood out to me.

Portrait of my friends
Two of our good friends got married last June and I wanted to make them a wedding card. I always enjoyed drawing and painting portraits but time was running out with this one. I searched on Facebook for a good photo of my friends. In the end I wasn't able to give them the card on time for their wedding but I was able to give it to my friend as a Christmas gift.
Drawing at The Met
I realized I didn't post any work for 2015, so this year I will start by doing more art. In order to start the year right my husband and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to draw the sculptures.

Dinosaur Painting
I wanted to practice and start painting using Photoshop and the first thing I saw was my dinosaur candle holder on my coffee table. I thought the shape and style of the dinosaur was interesting and a good object to practice painting. Here is a semi final version of my dinosaur.
